A true hidden gem. Very clean and affordable. My lox bagel came with chips and coffee. Definitely recommend this place

Bagels have been a long-time comfort food for me. I grew up eating fresh bagels my mom would pick up every Saturday morning. That said, it's been pretty hard to find a solid bagel shop in SoCal. At least in the Loma Linda area, our only choice is East Coast Bagels...

The nice thing about this shop is that they have a large variety that are clearly cooked/baked in-house. The menu can be a little dizzying with a huge selection of sandwich choices as well as multiple signs for other options/items scattered throughout your view. I frequent their toasted egg and cheddar bagel. They like to do a fluffy kind of egg scramble for their sandwiches--not bad in texture but lacks salt every time. Moreover, their sandwiches tend to be on the pricy side.

To be honest, I only come here because I really crave a bagel time to time. Worth a try but unless you have similar cravings, I'd be surprised if you come for a second visit.

GOOD: only bagel shop in Loma Linda, wide variety, freshly baked
BAD: pricy, ridiculously complicated menu, taste is meh.

The place needs a facelift paint looked wormed out? Bathroom looked dirty. Over prized and I would not recommend to anyone. Food was ok.
    The cashier was very nice.

As of 12/10/18, the lox bagel is $9.51. Pretty pricey for a bagel that only comes with two small pieces of lox on each piece of the bagel. I got my lox with an everything bagel and the bagel itself was very tasty and had a nice chewy texture to it. I do wish they added a few more pieces of lox for what I was paying. The bagel also comes with a side and I chose fruit. As you can see from my picture, it was a side of dried out watermelons. Quite disappointed from my choice of sides that I did not touch. I did enjoy that they had a variety of coffee flavors to pick from! My favorite was the pumpkin spice one.
It looks like a lot of the reviews had to do with service and the lack of friendliness from the employees but I did not experience that. The lady helping me was friendly and even brewed me a fresh cup of coffee when I needed a refill.

The bagels were okay, nothing to be like super excited about. They also make cream cheese in store for you.

Also tried the Turkey, spinach, cheese and mushroom bagel sandwich that my boyfee got. And....ummm... I spit it back out into the napkin. It tasted fishy and just undesirable for my taste buds. Looks good, just doesnt taste good.

Did they put in expired Turkey meat? Or an old batch of mushrooms?

    Anyways.
I went with a simple strawberry cream cheese and plain bagel, also tried blueberry bagel that was a bit stale and very chewy. The orginal cream cheese was alright for what it is.

Decor'e:   Pretty much black and white color scheme.
Chairs and tables, also a bench for seating. Checkered black and white tiled floors.
Boradway theme ish. Looks like a donut shop turned bagel shop.

Service:The lady at the cashier was nice. And we got our bagels served to us.

Not a fan of people sitting down that are clearly the owners friends being loud in conversation when all we wanted was a Calm Cafe type of dining.

It pretty much chased off the other customers out who were trying to enjoy they're bagels.
The 3 elderly people that sat in the next table near us  which were reading news papers said those people sounded like "A FLOCK OF CROWS KAW KAW!" Also that they came to the wrong place at the wrong time.

I wanted to laugh out loud so bad, but I just chuckled.

    Anywho,

Pricy for what it is. Not really worth $15 for some bagels and 2 drinks.

I suppose this area doesnt have much choices when it comes to a type of establishment such as this.

    Toodles!
